Pashmina Confessions

Before leaving for Israel a few weeks ago, my mother-in-law asked me if there was anything I'd like her to pick up. Of course, a Pashmina Scarf! So, you can imagine my excitement when I opened the package and saw this beautiful woven scarf:

And just as excited when I saw this:

But wait...there's another tag. To the right, attached to the side...

Right there, in the ONLY English on the entire tag...65% Cotton, 35% Polyester!

I didn't know Pashmina was really just a Cotton/Poly blend! :)

I discovered this while on the phone thanking my mother-in-law for the beautiful gift. She and I both had a good laugh and she admitted that she had bartered for it in a market.

Mystery Solved!

Spring Ribbon Wands

My new love of Mod Podge has led me to this....

Ribbon Wands!

Ribbon Wands are so fun and great for any age and activity! Who doesn't LOVE a ribbon wand?

Secretly, you're picturing yourself in your backyard where nobody can see you trying to make a "Figure 8" with the ribbon. Right?

They are super fun, and colorful. I enlisted my friends girls to help with some action shots. It only took a minute and they had all kinds of great moves. They even gave them official names like "The Tornado," "Figure 8," and "The ZigZag" along with spelling their names and every letter in the alphabet.

I've got a few listed in my Etsy shop. Check it out here! Or at http://www.agirlandherneedle.etsy.com/

One Down....

Three more to go...

Did I mention that I LOVE to crochet? I love to have a reason to make these fun little critters and bubbly blankets. A friend of mine is hosting a baby shower and requested an elephant set in blue and brown. No problem on short notice, right?

I've been so busy working in this "Blanky and Buddy" trying to get it done in time for the shower, that I've had little time for anything else. After watching the Toddler wade through empty Diet Coke cans, mix up dirty and clean laundry, turn over a pizza box lid to look for food, and yes, eat a raisin off the floor, I decided it was time for A BREAK from crochet. My house was starting to look like we'd had a frat party. I'm happy to say, it's all cleaned up. The laundry is folded, the trash has been taken out. The Toddler has been fed, and the floor has been vacuumed. Whew!

My new found love - Mod Podge. Who doesn't love a monogram? A wooden letter, scrapbook paper, white paint, and Mod Podge. Even Martha Stewart got into the spirit of decoupage. She was Mod Podging butterflies to an egg for Easter on her show this afternoon!
